A man has been arrested in connection with two incidents in the Beverley area in the early hours of this morning.
Police received a report of a robbery on Hodgson Avenue in Beverley at 03:26 in which a pedal cycle and small quantity of cash was taken.
A further call was received reporting a disturbance in the street on Beaver Road where a man was reportedly seen holding a chainsaw, which is believed to have been stolen in a burglary at a nearby shed. Early indications are that the incidents are linked.
A 23 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and robbery remains in custody.
